UTAS Scholarships and Virtual Open Day
Come and study in regional Australia with support of a $15,000 Destination Australia Scholarship.
The University of Tasmania has scholarships available to international students who are commencing a full-time bachelor degree, associate degree, or postgraduate coursework degree for the first time at the University of Tasmania in 2021.
To be eligible for the Destination Australia Scholarship, students must:
- be commencing students for the first time at the University of Tasmania in 2021
- be studying on a valid student visa
Selection will be based on academic merit and quality of written application. Applications close 31 October 2020 with full scholarship details available here.

Postgraduate scholarship opportunities available
The University of Tasmania has a variety of projects we are actively seeking PhD candidates for, including Pathways to a carbon neutral livestock industry by 2030. This particular project is also eligible for the Destinations Australia Scholarship with applications closing 4 September 2020. Further details about this PhD project can be found here.
The Study Tasmania Colombian Scholarship in Science is generously provided by the Department of State Growth Tasmania to assist with the promotion of Tasmania as a postgraduate study destination for Colombian students, particularly in the area of Blue and Green Sciences. Applications are now open for semester 1, 2021 at apply.scholarships.utas.edu.au

MBBS applications still open for 2021 study
Applications for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) are still open for study at the University of Tasmania in 2021. Entry into the MBBS is extremely competitive and applications will be ranked by a combination of academic results and IAST test results. Full details can be found here.
The University of Tasmania will guarantee city accommodation for MBBS students commencing their degree in semester 1, 2021 (with the exception of NRAS Melville Street). Accommodation is conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the Medical Science Precinct and the Royal Hobart Hospital.
