Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments

With the all new Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments, students learn to prepare and present building design projects of varying scales and complexity.

Focusing on the relationship between people and their environments, students will gain an understanding of the critical, ethical, aesthetic, socio-cultural, and technological components of architecture, plus the design of sustainable future environments. Architectural design, history, and contemporary practice are also covered using critical approaches.

·  IELTS: 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in each band

Successful completion of the Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments will enable students to apply for entry into the Master of Architecture (Professional).

Master of Architecture (Professional)

The Master of Architecture (Professional) prepares students for a career as a registered architect.

Continuing similar principles and practices from the Bachelor's, students learn to integrate social and technical knowledge into core design processes, and design a range of buildings. At the heart of the programme is a design thesis - an opportunity to develop research skills and research an area of interest. The programme is mainly studio-based.

·  Entry requirements: Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments or equivalent with a B grade average + portfolio + interview

·  IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each band

Students who complete the Master of Architecture (Professional) as well as an approved period of practical experience in New Zealand and Australia will be eligible to take the professional practice interview to become registered architects.
